Visa on Arrival

Beginning April 1, 2025, Namibia will roll out updated visa regulations affecting travelers from various countries. Although many nationalities will still be able to obtain a Visa on Arrival at designated entry points, we strongly advise applying online ahead of your trip. This is especially important with the introduction of the new system, as delays at immigration are expected during the transition period.

Be sure to choose the correct visa category when applying. Some travelers have mistakenly selected the “Holiday Visa” instead of the “Visa on Arrival.” Even if approved and paid for, the wrong visa type will not be accepted at the border, leading to avoidable entry issues.

To prevent problems, confirm your country’s visa requirements before applying. The online visa platform can be accessed through Namibia’s official government portal:

Quick Facts:

Who Needs a Visa? Travelers from nations not covered by Namibia’s visa waiver agreements must apply in advance or at entry.

Where to Apply? Online or at specific border posts, including Hosea Kutako International Airport and select land crossings.

Fees:

Non-African nationals: Approx. NAD 1,600 (~USD 90)

African nationals: Approx. NAD 1,200 (~USD 70)

Even if your nationality qualifies for a visa on arrival, we highly recommend submitting an online application beforehand. This will minimize the risk of long waits and confusion when entering Namibia under the new system.

✅ Check current requirements before your journey to ensure a smooth arrival.
